Statistical Downscaling for Central America #3

Closed hugohidalgoleon closed 1 year ago

hugohidalgoleon commented 1 year ago

We completed the task of statistically downscaling monthly precipitation and temperature data for the terrestrial part of the Central America plus Dominican Republic domain at 1 km x 1 km for 6 CMIP6 models from 1979-2099. We also have a daily version of precipitation, as well as maximum and minimum temperature for the domain over Costa Rica. Regards, Hugo Hidalgo, University of Costa Rica

Thank you for the update @hugohidalgoleon Which models did you complete? This is the list you reported in your plans:

(you can just tick in the checkboxes) Do you still plan to downscale the rest? There is no statistical downscaling protocol in CORDEX, yet, but for comparison with RCM output and to be able to compute delta changes with different reference periods, it would be nice to have the historical period downscaled starting in 1950 or, at least, 1960. See point 5 in https://cordex.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/CORDEX-CMIP6_exp_design_RCM.pdf

All models mentioned were downscaled. We may be able to downscale the data from previous years, however note that the project that was funding me to do these simulations is already finished. We may be able to squeeze some of our time when we have a low workload. Regards, Hugo

Thank you for the clarification, @hugohidalgoleon . No problem. I will update the status of your simulations.
