Adjustment to dataset menu display #301

Update related to issue #298

We have at least one deployment of the dashboard that will have ~100 datasets. Will this new menu support that?

@joefutrelle - Yes; the solution will handle that scenario. I just amended it slightly to be certain.

With a small number of datasets, there's a very large amount of whitespace on the menu; it doesn't close up to something more compact.

plus it looks different than the when you open the menu for filtering, which has a little arrow that points to the menu item. I like how that looks and we could adopt that for the dataset selection menu to make the look and feel consistent across the two.
