the long pins will need to be in there anywat to get the servo into the breadboard, and to terminate the 4 wire cables for the ultrasonic
I meant the long-pinned sockets. The “double-sided pins make sense. Typically, one would solder either sockets or pins to a uC board — the long-pinned sockets are both.

Long pins or short? The long pins allow you to put the device in either direction...but it does open up the possibility of creating a short.
