After updating this plugin, when I try to upload an image I get this error. I'm attempting to upload jpg files and they upload just fine when I deactivate the plugin.

Hi Romancito. I was notified about this issue the other day but as it wasn't a straight forward one to answer I though I'd come back to it and forgot!

Not sure where to start with this one... how about what WordPress version you're running? What OS is that running on? Have you had this plugin working before?
