Highway Activity Tracking System Issue Tracker

In the roadway rockfall removal report there are fields that require numbers but the iPad defaults to the normal keyboard. Is there any way to make the iPad revert to the numerical keyboard for theses fields? The fields are the “begin milepost” and “length of debris” #1222

Hi Bruce! How ya doin buddy? Yes you are right when the input requires numbers the number keyboard should pop up by default. If you use the state route and mile post search tool this is the case. I’ll see if we can get this done.

Can we make it so forms with answers requiring numbers have the number keyboard pop up by default?

The iPhone has a number only keyboard.

iPads do not. They only have the numbers/symbols view. I’ll see if we can default at least to that view that has the numbers on top row.

It should only let numbers be entered though.

Well this opened a can of worms. :) Turns out it should be working but I picked the wrong keyboard type. If the app ran on the iPhone it would have worked great. But alas. I went through the entire application and now any field that requires a number will pull up the number/symbols keyboard. Will be in 4.1. Currently done in dev.

These fields are set as free text. Change them to number using the web form editor and issue will be fixed. There was work in 4.1 to make sure number and percents show the number/punctuation keyboard by default. So while that doesn't fix this issue/request it will once you change the question type.
