Raw Fish

Lots of the spells require raw fish , but with pams harvest craft installed it's hard to get them. Is there a way to get vanilla fish?

It took me a while, but I had to go into a plains biome and make a small artificial lake in order to have a chance at getting raw fish, you can also use a witches oven to take cooked fish if you've gotten those via chests/lucky blocks to make raw fish(lucky blocks will usually drop both raw and cooked, plus other fish and a fishing pole if you get that roll) I've noticed that Pam's harvestcraft also has ones that make no sense for not being ocean biome fish and ones that shouldn't be ocean biome fish coming up with a fishing rod as well, would be kinda nice if that were adjusted in a simular manner to mariculture as I got an anchovy(saltwater fish) while fishing in my little lake in a plains biome and catfish(freshwater fish) in the ocean. I think there was also a Botonia recipe but that requires that one catalyst(forget it's name)...

1. If you're making ars magica 2 spells then I would suggest that you make the spells with projectile rather then touch because projectile dosen't need fish.
2. I've never had that problem with getting fish, but if it gets THAT bad then you can just either remove pam's harvestcraft (Not reccomended) or just go into creative and swap the fish types. P.s. if you have cheats dissabled you can open you're world to lan and turn on cheats from there temporarily.

1. Touch is better on some spells...
2. Shouldn't need to do either of those things just to get a low quality vanilla item, I get sticks, pam's harvestcraft water garden drops, leather armor, and bowls like crazy, and when I do catch fish, it's usually salmon which Ars Magica2 doesn't accept for Touch shape

We found using the Thaumcraft golem with fishing bypasses Pam's altogether. It does not fish up anything from Pam's at all

Sounds like a good alternative regardless since golems automate things, tbh though I never really got a good vis source(mostly bad luck with the primal mana bean spawns in this pack, actually came across a few compound mana beans that were derived of the ones that I usually was lacking...) so I never actually got around to using golems in this modpack...
