I received this comment about my video site. Can anyone verify this?

it is really hard to support a website that dumps gigabytes of cookies on local hardrives and is dismissed by the owner as something trivial, or simply not addressed at all. gigabytes!! that is hollywood wedding cake not cookies

this code used by fakeotube dot com is dumping up to 1.8 gigabytes of cookies on my system. within minutes. that isnt cookies that is hollywood wedding cakes. it is frustrating and i dont trust this software at all, hence i barely use this site based on it . anyone?

that listing has little to do with that which gets dumped on my system. I am reporting what brave browser tells me. i am on linux and am not a Noob user . there are 23 cookies on HD , way more than officially listed. there are many ones called "key" . here is list of cookies fakeotube puts on my system , well this is only up to 1.1 gb so far so maybe still d/l https://i.imgur.com/V5DGt0D.png

Brave browser doesnt report size of individual cookies, at least i cant see it. ive already sent link to screenshots showing what cookies it puts on my system. as u can see key is repeated many times and there are others not listed on that link that i already checked. the large cookies most happen when i log in as user. they are less when anon. multiple keys.... keys are for logging yeah? id say that might be it, or the other cookies that arent listed on official link u gave

im not 100% sure what u mean, they all have different "paths" haven't checked them all and done a full comparison. image above is the first key that is laid, via the time details

I just checked and I do not have any cookies with a name key, I also triple check all the cookies in the UserNotification plugin

so I suspect another script is adding those cookies,

@fakeologist I can see you have many custom js in your site, check your site's configuration head code.

remove all of them and check if that resolves the cookie issue

just did and there was almost 1gb cookies within 30 seconds of logging in ... im not even sure my internet is fast enough for that.....

this time it has less keys, 18 cookies all up i think, but it has always been variable with short log in times, if i do a few video watches etc it historically then goes up . 5 keys this time , yep i just opened new video on new tab and now it is 21 cookies but still only 5 keys

BTW OS hardrive space details dont match what brave browser says when deleting and adding these cookies.... not sure what that means

I could inspect the code, the GB you are seeing is not the cookies, this is not even allowed to have large cookies like this on sites.

But what you are seeing is the Google Workbox cache storage. it caches the images on the site, so your site will load faster the next time you access it.

currently, there is no way to disable it.

the image cache has a lifetime of 1 week.

the image cache is being reported as cookies? but when ive logged in for 20 seconds.... ive seen almost no images. is it downloading the whole sites images as i log in? if so that is really poor code. why not when i dont log in? i dont think this is a solution answer , i am still skeptical of the safety of the code and still will rarely use the website , and system OS reprots HD details consistent with what bleachbit says it deleted... unlike fakotube cookies reporting . what about all the cookies ive shown you that isnt on the official link u sent?

u say u have no cookies called "key" yet the official website details on cookies show "key" THAT U SENT ME LINK TO. i dont understand. if u cant stop ur code from downloading an entire websites images as cache upon login, i would say you are a disingenuous coder. i did do a software engineering degree BTW ;) (just dropped it like a hot potato whence viewing shenanigans in said industry) and pursued music
