Frotz: Carriage returns displayed as '?' characters. #51

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Run constraints.z5 (Constraints by Martin Bays, from the 2002 IfComp,
available via http://wurb.com/if/game/1916 among other places).

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

In certain circumstances, line breaks are incorrectly displayed as question
marks. (I've only noticed it in one game so far, but it might be a pointer
to a deeper or more widespread problem.)
