Also, the "gear" sound is being used as a loop, but the sound doesn't actually loop. Not sure what we should do about that. Also the sound effect itself kind of annoying.

They were 2D sounds for some reason. changing them to 3d sounds and decreasing the noise fixes the cacophony problem. It also makes the looping and annoyingness less noticeable.
