This was an implied purpose of #707 even though not explicitly stated:

It supports scanning now right? Like the barcode and filling in info

Essentially Zoli wanted a way to take a photo of the id and fill things in. This is actually a hard problem - many states have multiple ids in different forms for different classes and different ages ... this is not something trivial. If onfido believes they have it solved, that's great.

Onfido has SDK's for iOS, Android, and Web. It would make onboarding a lot cleaner and less prone to errors. https://developers.onfido.com/sdks
