[Bug]: Datapack Validation Failed #29

Open ejm554 opened 2 years ago

Is there an existing issue for this?

Description

I tried installing v3.0.0 [Waystones], but the Data Packs section of Minecraft 1.18.2 with Forge shows that the pack is "made for a newer version." The "validation (step) failed." Note that I do have the Waystones mod installed.

To Reproduce

  1. Download v3.0.0 [Waystones] (not the Fabric version).
  2. Copy the file to the Clipboard.
  3. Launch a Minecraft 1.18.2 Forge installation.
  4. Launch Minecraft, and choose Singleplayer.
  5. Click the New World button.
  6. Click the Data Packs button.
  7. Click the Open Pack Folder button.
  8. In the file directory interface that appears, paste the downloaded file that you copied in Step 2.
  9. Return to Minecraft, and make note of the Towers of the Wild pack in the "available" pane. It will highlighted in red with a message indicating an incompatibility problem.
  10. Move the pack to the "selected" pane.
  11. In the "are you sure" dialog, choose the Yes button.
  12. Click the Done button. After a few moments, a message will appear indicating that a validation process failed.

Expected behavior

I expected it to allow installation without any error messages.

An additional FYI

If the standard datapack is added to a new world, i.e. not the 'Waystones' variant, the validation process seems to accept it.

At first, I'm sorry for the inconveniences!

But wow! This is by far the best described issue I've ever received on GitHub 😍

I'll try to get some time for this in the next days, so please be patient about it. I'll do my best!
