I think it may make sense to start forum topics that reflect the "what we do" sections of our website, since we would already have content for those:

Pedestrian safety Reduce the number of walkers killed / injured statewide.

Walkable communities Engage & build community through walk audits, workshops, & advocacy training.

Age-friendly walking Adopt policies and practices that increase safety for children and older adults.

Transit connections Promote safe walking connections to transit statewide.

Rural walking Address issues specific to rural communities.

Walking policy & design Influence projects, policy, and legislation on local, state, & national levels.

Vision Zero A data-driven approach to traffic safety that is designed to eliminate traffic fatalities and severe injuries for all modes.

Snow clearance There is much to be done to improve sidewalk, curb ramp, bus stop, and traffic island snow shoveling to make Massachusetts pedestrian-friendly year round.

Wayfinding Wayfinding signs can give people clear information about walking routes and walking times to reach key destinations.

Running Runners use the same sidewalks and paths as walkers, and also have a special need for safer access to and from Massachusetts’ parkway and park systems.

online organizing tools people have asked for recommendations before about creating a facebook page / group, email list, image / photo editing, etc. Maybe start a thread with some of these ideas, or separate threads for each and encourage others in the initial post to share what they use & why they like/dislike

This list has been moved to Google Docs so others can contribute. Closing topic here.
