I do believe this goes further than just Everlook as I've tried to reproduce on other vmango core servers and same issue, so I started by making this: https://github.com/vmangos/core/issues/1578

I'll leave here as well though as to bring attention to it.

It fails which is normal Make macro /cast Eagle Eye then attempt to reproduce, fails the same which is not how it should be as shown in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=db3sYKRf_AQ

Hunters were able to chain-cast Eagle Eye without the use of a macro back in vanilla. The use of a macro to replicate the same effect is one of the game’s edge-case differences, like fall-through macros (worked in vanilla, doesn’t in classic) and Eagle Eye on the minimap (same), and the trap animation while running (doesn’t require jumping to break the anim in classic). The game is full of changes, and requiring a macro is one of them.

It is unusual that the macro adds the functionality to chain cast this spell, but the last time this topic came up it was confirmed that such behavior is authentic to Vanilla. The shaman far sight spell works the same way and can be chain casted without a macro. So even if you break the eagle eye macro, far sight has the exact same functionality.

There’s nothing wrong with the ability itself
it is only “cheaty” because your map radar works as though you were physically at the location you’re eagle eying.

I think that if Eagle Eye truly was chainable in vanilla we would've seen more people talking about it back in the actual vanilla-era. All I could ever find for it is the video linked, and a chain of comments that seem to suggest it worked briefly (~patch 1.10 given the dates). You start finding a lot more people mentioning chaining eagle eye after vanilla, when the /cast !Eagle Eye syntax was introduced in TBC.

Finding people who mention that Far Sight is chainable is easier (and they'll sometimes mention that Eagle Eye is not chainable). A few examples:

If you go looking you'll find it mentioned here and there, not making a big deal of it since its kind of common knowledge.

I played a hunter in Classic, and Eagle Eye was chainable. I did it very often.
