I'm aware that chessground refused implementing promotions directly into chessground many times, but since promotions are more common in shogi, I believe promotions should be added to shogiground. API call with some callbacks that would position pieces correctly on a separate HTML layer, styled with css. Should work both for moves and drops(kyotoshogi).
