request: output to rtf for exchange with LayOut3 #2

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Sketchup 8, Layout 3, Pro version

Please provide any additional information below.

It would be great to have an rtf output possibility. That way the cutlists I 
show in Layout will always be up-to-date.

Do you really mean rtf? as in Rich Text Format, the Microsoft proprietary 
standard for formatted text? I believe the standard is not generally available 
and Microsoft is phasing it out. Does Layout3 really use this? I don't use the 
Pro version, so am not familiar with how Layout 3 works.

I prefer the RTF version because that allows me to have some kind of layout 
control.

The export from Cutlist just has to behave like a RTF file, no fancy stuff 
required. Just the header and some table definitions and such.

Steve,

If Microsoft is phasing out RTF, I think it would be good to wait on adding 
this option to see what changes the LayOut folks might make with LayOut 2013 
which is expected to be released in either Q3 or Q4 this year.

I find I always end up editing the cutlist to rearrange the order in which 
parts are shown as well as to remove some unneeded columns. The workflow is to 
go from the CSV file, through Excel to do some editing and rearranging, to Word 
to do further formatting including conversion from table to text before 
creating the RTF file. Actually I wind up with two different RTF files because 
I need different fonts and sizes for each version of the plan. It's a little 
convoluted but I've done it so many times it is nearly automatic for me.
