Yes, this possibility was added in "next" version. But who is going to develop and maintain a private paid weather API that will be used by 1 or 2 users? How do we ensure that it (still) works and stays in sync with latest app changes, if we do not have access to a public API key?

I'm not the maintainer of the app and I don't know his policy regarding new weather providers, but that's my point of view as the developer and maintainer of two weather providers of this app.
