Character entry for English keyword when Japanese IME is enabled #20

I have Japanese IME enabled in my Kindle Fire HD. When the reviews cycle around to entering text in English, the default character entry is usually Japanese, which is annoying. It requires cycling to romaji most times to Enter the English key word. Interestingly, when the reviews ask for Japanese character entry, the default input method is always romaji.

Can this be corrected so input is always defaulted to romaji as Wanikani expects?

Otherwise it is a stellar app!

Based on what you describe, I've added a "Romaji" setting (disabled by default) that should do what you need. Also, you may want to try and disable "Disable suggestions" if you would like to use the system IME when entering readings. https://www.dropbox.com/s/gkrlhdfy6s0fa4z/WaniKaniMobile-1.15.5-kindleime0.apk?dl=0 I could not test it (no reviews for the next hour), so be prepared: anything could happen ;)

Alberto, For some odd reason, my Kindle cannot parse any of the apk files I find here, so I am unable to try this modification. "Parse Error - There is a problem parsing the package". Do you know what the reason might be? I've sideloaded other APKs with no issue. My copy of Wanikani Mobile was installed via "1Mobile Market".

I could load sideload the app by downloading and copying from my PC. I had one review and so far so good. I have a few more reviews coming up, so I'll respond on the WK forum with more results. Thanks!!
