"Guardians of Azeroth" is a mod for Crusader Kings 3 with a worldwide development team, based on the Warcraft universe by Blizzard Entertainment. In this mod, our team is working to recreate the world of Azeroth in all of its glory, particularly focusing on the story of the classic Warcraft strategy games and World of Warcraft Classic.
Right now Mages are expected to deal with the same set of elemental magic as Shamans, even though Mages have always have a completely different flavor for their elemental magic and have been using it in lore since before Shamans were even a thing.
There is a Spirit/Decay binary that is supposed to be affecting elemental magics that will not affect people of other cultures using them. Right now there isn't much documentation on how that is supposed to work. I have proposed several ways to approach this.
Based on consensus and requests from Patreons we will be doing one of the following:
Making a new tree for Arcane Ice and Fire
Adding new trees to the Elemental trees for general use
Creating a third flavor (besides spirit and decay) for Elemental magic perks we already have
Ignoring the issue and releasing as is, and resolve how Spirit and Decay will work with that separately.
