[Maemo] Phone reboots everytime the data are being extracted #4

Closed timfel closed 8 years ago

timfel commented 8 years ago

While Stargus is being set up, in the end of the installation process, a message pops up requesting the game data files to be in MyDocs/Starcraft. After the confirmation, It says that it has found the data files in that folder, and it asks if I want to proceed with the extraction: if I press Ok, the phone reboots after 1-2 secs.

Imported from Launchpad using lp2gh.

(by pali) Please set R&D mode with disabled watchdogs and no lifeguard. Then try install stargus via apt-get and attach output from xterm when installing stargus and attach syslog too. (Without more info it is not possible to find out problem)

(by emanuele-cassioli) Hi Pali,

I really don't know what's going on here. Just finished installing Stargus in R&D mode (all watchdogs and lifeguard off), no errors here. I won't post xterm output as it's normal (it just says DONE), but here's the syslog (however to me it seems normal too).

Don't know if a system process crashed during the setup, phone is perfectly working.

(by pali) In syslog is only this: Jan 31 16:32:29 Nokia-N900 tracker-indexer[2185]: GLIB WARNING * Tracker - Unable to retrieve info from file (Error stating file '/home/user/MyDocs/stratagus/stargus/remove-stardat.mpq': No such file or directory) Jan 31 16:32:30 Nokia-N900 tracker-indexer[2185]: GLIB WARNING * Tracker - No data was allocated for row 0, this means the database contained NULL or non-managed values for all the data in it Jan 31 16:32:30 Nokia-N900 tracker-indexer[2185]: GLIB WARNING \ Tracker - No data was allocated for row 1, this means the database contained NULL or non-managed values for all the data in it

But it is warning for trackerd, not any Stargus applications.

Please try uninstall and install Stargus again in normal (not R&D) mode. I think that there is no problem in Stargus. Maybe somethink in your phone or other running/hidden app... No other users report this problem on talk.maemo.org thread.

(by emanuele-cassioli) Unistallend and reinstalled without R&D, the phone unfortunately rebooted. BTW the reboot corrupted the file system, leading it to the read only FS error. Solved with a "chkdsk /F" on Windows XP connecting the N900 with mass storage mode.

I still don't know if my phone is the problem, but tomorrow I'm going to install stargus on another N900 (a fresh new one); I'll post the results here of course. Thanks for your efforts.

(by emanuele-cassioli) Hi again,

managed to install Stargus on another N900 without problems, guess my personal N900 needs a reflash... I'm changing my vote in the testing queue right now.
