Whenever there are air units around Enemy Gaurd Towers, Ships, Archers and Axe Throwers, these units/buildings that have the ability to attack the air unit, do infact not attack them, even though in the lua scripts the units that can attack air units have the parameter enabled.
This makes some of the campaigns annoying as you cannot lure land/sea/air units away with your air unit...
