Ubuntu 20.10 not seeing wargus data. #338

I have installed Wargus by following the directions on the wargus.github.io page. It installed correctly, and initially I could play it, except if I put it in fullscreen mode - then I just got a black screen, but could still hear the music playing, so I had to shut the game down.

I managed to get it working in windowed mode but at a lower resolution.

Now my issue is, that I can't even run the game, and it tells me to delete the data.Wargus folder. I tried that, then re-extracted, and still no luck. Then I tried to delete both data.Wargus and the wc2 folder. Still nothing. Still get the message box.

Please help.

Which version of wargus did you use and which data.wargus folder did you delete?

DinkyDyeAussie commented 3 years ago

Latest version 3.0.0.0 or whatever that last version number is. I deleted the data folder in .stratagus/wargus which is a hidden folder on my linux drive.

After I reinstalled it, the game kept doing the same thing, so I thought I would give the computer a reboot.

It seems to be working fine after doing that.

Weird, how would a reboot affect which files you have on your drive?

since it was working fine again after something happened, I'm closing this for lack of activity and reproducibility
