I think we discussed this abit on discord. What FPS is the "cap" for your laptop to run with minimal heat?
Theres always the option of enabling VSYNC
Theres always the option of enabling VSYNC
VSYNC may not work on some platforms.
Confirmed, vblank interval may be wrong (ie 0), timer-based fps lock will be nice but I doubt you will leave your vsync not working for long, you will fix it, hopes for you
try to limit fps with special programs, i.e. RTSS or nvidia/amd control panels
@neuks: Generally-speaking, vsync will do what you're looking for. However, it is possible that certain system configurations / graphics drivers / etc may not properly work with the game's vsync option.
If you also have / use macOS on that Macbook Air, you can try the macOS version of WZ which will very likely properly support vsync on your system.
Prob can close...
Though, most games in menus provide an FPS limit or soft target to aim for anywhere from 5 -> 250. ( 5 fps for menu only ) Low as 30 fps would be fine for this game I'd think.
Some users may want as low as 5 fps when running the game at a slower game speed.
Suggest implement a FPS limiter to reduce heat on laptops The FPS rate on my laptop (Macbook Air with Windows) is too high, and when it runs, it generates a lot of heat that keeps the fan running and burning more electricity, and may increase the aging of cooling system and welding points.
As a environmentalist, there needs a way to reduce FPS and heat I'm a minimalist and environmentalist, hope the developers can implement a FPS limiter, such as setting the FPS rates etc. So the game can be more environmentally friendly and keeping the laotop cool, without so much of noise, Thanks dude!
