Consider moving EnlightenSpectra to /Users/Public/Documents #330

Maybe this is a long-standing convention, I don't know, but I've been seeing this frequently from other programs and it has some advantages.

I don't think we should do this.

  1. Changing file locations can lead to complexity/confusion
  2. This seems to break multi-user configurations. What if I don't want to share my spectra with other users of the same machine?
  3. If we use Public we are now dependent on the existence and permissions of that folder. What if some users on some machines aren't allowed to write to that location?

Finally, most importantly,

  1. This would break Windows XP support.

I'm not worried about XP support (we only build 64-bit installers, and definitely don't test against XP), but I'm happy to drop the proposal. We have now considered it :-)

Thanks. The XP bit was something of a joke. I know we don't actively support it. But still it's one of the best versions of Windows IMO
