See http://www.oneukrainian.com/tmp/20240621-wb_view-blink.webm

This is with a fresh build/install of new 2.0.0 on a Debian system. Particular version: connectome-workbench_2.0.0-1~nd120+1_amd64.deb and all build-logs are available from https://neuro.debian.net/_files/_buildlogs/connectome-workbench/2.0.0/

If you go to a different volume mode (Ortho) or a surface view, does the screen flash during an identification operation (click mouse over surface or volume slice)?

Try compiling with WORKBENCH_USE_QT5_QOPENGL_WIDGET=TRUE so that Qt’s newer OpenGL widget is used.

If that does not help and Qt6 is available, try using Qt6:

If you go to a different volume mode (Ortho) or a surface view, does the screen flash during an identification operation (click mouse over surface or volume slice)?

in the surface view it blinks most of the time (but some times don't) if I right click mouse to get menu, and quite often if I click with left mouse button.

What happens if you compile with the newer OpenGL widget or Qt 6?

I believe this happens if you are not using hardware acceleration in a virtual environment. I recommend using virtualGL to get better performance and full hardware accelerations.
