That's probably the mods fault. Look in the mcmod.info file inside the mod jar, the author probably didn't change it from the defaults.
I'm hesitant to hardcode an exception for that one name, but I guess it's more likely a mod named "Example Mod" would be an unchanged default than an actual mod name.
Occasionally I get files that show up as "Example Mod : 1.0"
In this case could you print the filename or something so I know which mod is responsible? I usually update a lot of mods at once and it's hard to play "what is missing" with so many at once.
