Given the homepage here isn't redistributable software or a library component that others can use, open-sourcing this library isn't of quite as much value to the greater open-source community, but it's important for two reasons:
It would be in keeping with our "Open Source" mantra as a community, and
It would encourage contributions to the repository from community members on the grounds that they can advertise the work they did for the project
One of the big hurdles (getting the code into a state where there aren't any immediate vulnerabilities identifiable) is already cleared, so now the remaining process would look like:
[x] Move the remaining "secret" credentials into environment variables (currently marked in the codebase as TODO)
[x] Create a new public repository with its first commit being the current state of the code, and no history attached to it
[x] Transfer existing issues from this repository into that one
