That's correct.
To contrast TFA-urban with TFA-suburban performance then TFA needs to be an omitted category (include the Reg dummy) so it becomes a reference group.
It would not matter which school dummy you included (urban vs suburban) - the answer would be the same either way, just opposite signs.
Ok thank you. I misunderstood that I was supposed to identify one of the three models that were in the lab instructions, but it appears that I can construct my own that will fit that contrast.
I have a question from the lab. Q6-b: which model allows us to test whether TFA instructors perform differently in urban versus suburban schools?
ANSWER: Either model 2 or model 3 with coefficient b3 if tfa teachers are being contrasted to regular teachers in those settings. However, to contrast TFA in urban and suburban settings you would need TFA to be one of the reference groups.
Does this make sense?
