@castower Hi Courtney (or anyone else that can help) šŸ˜Š

Is the Parallel Lines Assumption the same as The Proportional Odds assumption?

Iā€™m trying to answer the question in the lab and doing some research they seem to be used interchangeably but my interpretation may be wrong.

Hello @AmyTrumpower,

I am not familiar with the Proportional Odds Assumption, but when I reviewed the literature on it, it does appear to be the same concept.

The Parallel Lines Assumption is covered at the end of Lab 05 Tutorial: https://watts-college.github.io/cpp-528-fall-2021/labs/lab-05-tutorial.html#:~:text=Difference-in-Difference%20Model%3A

Specifically, you want to focus on whether your treat:post variable shows additional growth beyond the post variable after you log your variables. This will indicate whether there was actually growth or if the treated and non-treated tracts experienced growth at the same rate.
