It's a bug, but it's in a very low priority bug fix.

We're currently working on other big bugs, so we'll fix them and slowly work our way up :)

The result... It wasn't a bug. It was a feature that was present in Forge as well. Since the Fabric version will follow the same path as Forge, we won't fix this feature.
