Description: The open-source projects such as Kubernetes, NodeJs etc., come under the Linux Foundation, and corporate tech giants fund it. These companies are fierce competitors and can most likely build these projects independently. They chose to collaborate and contribute to existing open-source projects for their collective interest. Similarly, The future of blockchain is not one dominant chain that has everything but a collection of blockchains that solve specific problems tied together with bridges and interoperability layers.

This talk will discuss current tools and technologies pushing for a multi-chain future and their limitations. Different blockchain companies implement various bridges. I will draw comparisons between different types of bridges and their architectures.

A large portion of the talk will include the Polkadot Ecosystem. Polkadot is designed to accommodate interoperability through parachains and parathreads. I will talk about how it is happening under the hood and how you can create your layer-1 blockchain and be a part of this ecosystem that enables accessible communication between multiple blockchains.

Target Audience - Beginners, Intermediate

Style of Session - 30 minutes, regular talk

Submission Type - Individual Presentation

About Me My name is Faisal Ahmed Farooq. I'm a former mentee of the Linux Foundation Mentorship program. I worked on creating a low-level Rust API for a userspace data plane that enables high network performance by bypassing the kernel and reducing context switches.

Currently, I work as a Junior Rust Engineer at Polkadex. Polkadex is a decentralized peer-to-peer orderbook-based cryptocurrency exchange for the DeFi ecosystem built on Substrate. We are India’s first organization that has an active Parachain Slot on Polkadot.
