Talk Proposal: Future of Zero-Knowledge Proofs and Blockchains #134

Description

Zero-knowledge technology is the most cutting-edge technology right now and is widely accepted to be the future of Blockchain infrastructure. Protocols such as Polygon have invested close to $1 Billion dollars to bet on a future built using this technology.

Protocols that working on making the crypto infrastructure ready for mass adoption, they are using ZK technology for two applications -

  1. Bringing Horizontal Scaling - The architecture of blockchains is such that there is an upper limit on the transactions throughput of even the most scalable chains. Blockchains need to be able to keep scaling as more and more users join.
  2. On-Chain Privacy for users and Dapps - There is hardly any web2 application where everything about a user is public to everyone. For serious applications to emerge on blockchains, privacy needs to be provided as a feature on the smart contract layer itself

The solution to both these problems resides in ZK technology. However, ZK tech is not ready for mass adoption. This tech is very hard to work on and demands very high skill sets from the engineers. For mass adoption, a very simple and easy-to-use developer tool kit is required that abstracts away all the underlying maths and cryptography, so the developers can launch products in a single afternoon.

The ZK ecosystem in India (and globally) is still very young. This is a massive opportunity for builders to launch products that define the digital era for decades to come.

Talk Type: 10-30 Min Regular Talk (individual or Discussion) Target Audience: Intermediate knowledge about blockchains required.
