Since no more details are yet in, I am assuming that this would provide repudiability to either party, since not the entire chain is auditable by third-parties, i.e., the exchange is somehow stateful and requires additional logic from either the holder or the verifier if such information could be used by third-party auditors.
Since some bindings are replayable and some are not, I think it would be worth highlighting the difference.
The difference is similar to that between authenticated encryption and digital signatures.
