Zen Thermostat run mode not changing #309

Open LionMike opened 3 years ago

LionMike commented 3 years ago

When Zen thermostat reaches heat or cool target run mode does not change. It should show "heating" when heating, then "fan" when heat shuts off and fan forces rest of heat from system, then "idle" when heat and fan are off.

@LionMike are you able to set your zen thermostat to cool? I am unable to set cooling mode from WebThings or a cooling target temp. It only works with heating

LionMike commented 3 years ago

I am able to do that. It usually takes a few seconds to turn on. I have also noticed that you cannot set your cooling and heating targets within two degrees. Try removing the batteries for a few seconds then reinstalling them, if you haven't already done so.

I assume you are referring to the running_state? According to the Zen-01-W docs the only possible values are idle, heat and cool.

LionMike commented 3 years ago

Hmm. When I had it connected to SmartThings hub, the run state would be heat or cool, then when desired temp was reached it would show fan, because the fan was forcing remaining residual hot or cold air out of system, then idle when resting. Aside from "fan" not being a possible value accordingly, run state still does not show idle.

Can confirm that the zigbee2mqtt UI shows idle while the gateway UI shows something different?

LionMike commented 3 years ago

I'm not using zigbee2mqtt adapter.
