GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Starting Webcam Studio
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Trying to get "Virtual Webcam" to display my desktop.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
The version is 0.57 beta 2 (140) on Trisquel Taranis (Ubuntu-based).

UNAME: Linux Bitslip 2.6.32-30-generic #59trisquel1-Ubuntu SMP Sat Apr 2
19:23:44 UTC 2011 i686 GNU/Linux

Please provide any additional information below.

I've tried looking for the source code to install it instead of the DEB
packages but can't seem to find it. I also did look up the vloopback stuff;
which is now something else. I can't seem to install or find that either.

I've already seen the below link which seems like the same issue.

Sorry, forgot to add that the flash app only see's my real webcam and not the
virtual webcam I'm trying to setup.

Make sure that the webcamstudio module is loaded (vloopback). To validate, do
a "lsmod | grep webcamstudio".

To install the module manually, check the website, the procedure is there.

One thing you could also do, if installed with the DEB package is run "sudo
/etc/init.d/webcamstudio start". Provide the output here...

You're missing a dependency . Headers for your kernel should be installed.
Normally, the debian package is taking care of that part...
