@pbranly same here... I tried connecting via telnet from my pc in the same network:
telnet 192.168.1.7 9000
but it's stuck like this:
Trying 192.168.1.7...
Connected to new-host.station.
Escape character is '^]'.
I think there is no telnet server in the camera and as suggested by @WelterRocks we need to use the serial connection. That is, connect with an usb cable soldered to the physical pins of the camera. But then what to do? Will my PC recognize the usb device and the console be available?
hi,
I also don't have telnet access on my vigil camera. Then i just bought a USB ttl cable (https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B009PP06C8) to connect to serial port
Serial settings are :
Then you can get root access:
~ # uname -a
Linux netvue 3.4.43-gk #1 PREEMPT Tue Apr 14 09:32:10 CST 2020 armv6l GNU/Linux
@mediamana Do you remember what version you tried it on? currently, mine is 1735 I can not log in using the given configuration, not sure where the problem is. The new version got this access disabled? the configuration for the serial is disabled with a newer version of the camera? Or USB Serial dongle is faulty?
Could you elaborate on what tools did you use? Once you connect you should get a prompt line waiting. Maybe I'm just lacking some basic concept of using a serial terminal...
Thank you!
Ok, now I learned my first lesson, where for one device point TX is a transmission for the other it will be RX - receiver.
It's pretty obvious to switch wiring around, but everything is new when doing it the first time, blindly linking RX with RX and TX with TX.
In the end, all worked as expected.
Thank you, Guys!
for the latest version I have.
