Unable to Search for Hex Strings #123

MasterDriverRex commented 4 years ago

When I use HxD, I can search for a specific string of hex values (example: 06 00 07 01 08 18 1C 1A 21 25), since I know what the string is, just not where it is.

However, with EdiZon, I can only search for an individual value, which means that I have to research using updated values over and over until there's only one or two left, which isn't all that convenient.

For example, take Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I know what my unit's stats are, and in what order they are in. Using HxD, I can just search for the hex value string and edit them quickly. Using EdiZon, I can only search for one stat at a time, and hope I'm not accidentally changing something else if I don't want to or cannot change said stat (NPC characters, not able to fight to level up, etc.).

@MasterDriverRex, is this supposed to be a suggestion to WerWolv? If it is, he has stopped working on EdiZon 3.1.0. He is working on EdiZon 4.0.0 only at the moment. I would suggest joining his Discord server and putting the suggestion in #feature-suggestion.

I am pretty sure that such functionality is planned for inclusion in EdiZon 4.0.0. From talking with @WerWolv (admittedly, very briefly), it sounds like the next major version of EdiZon is going to have MANY of the more obvious features that are missing in the current version (such as a memory viewer/editor, more data types in search [hopefully including byte arrays and custom types/structs], saving addresses found via search, etc). As @TechGeekGamer suggested, I would still suggest joining the Discord channel and leaving your suggestions in the appropriate channel however.
