The8thSoul: Abandoned Cub (Solo Killing) Basic: Like White Werewolf, your goal is to eliminate both Townsfolk and Werewolves and win alone. For the first two nights, you may not attack anyone. Each night thereafter, you may choose any player to attack, only killing them if they are a member of the wolfpack. Details: You are a packless lycan. You are permanently strong disguised as a Wolf Cub. If the wolfpack attacks you, you will survive the first time and they are alerted of this (like Runner). Upon dying, the wolfpack will be able to attack two players the following night.

The8thSoul: ngl... now that I think about it this seems like a massive mashup between white werewolf, wolf cub, runner and rogue wolf XD

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Nick262008: So its a solo killing role that only kills wolfs and acts like a runner when attacked by a wolf

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Snivy-Ace13: I remember a role called scared white werewolf that was like this lnao

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Nick262008:

I remember a role called scared white werewolf that was like this lnao

Thats what i was about to say lol

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: yeah...

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: It's almost identical to scared white werewolf, except they also aren't in pack at all and they have wolf cub powers

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: And also can attack every night after night 2

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: in a way I kinda wanted to make a white werewolf alternative that should aim to eliminate wolves first before town

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: coz atm white werewolf is about teaming with wolves until wolves are dominating over town

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: (well... that's what I think anyways)

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: although... it would be hard to kill town as this role...

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: Maybe it can just kill anyone from the start?

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Snivy-Ace13: It’s pretty luck based at the start

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Snivy-Ace13: Maybe it should choose two people and if one of them is wolf they die and if both are wolf neither of them die

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Snivy-Ace13: It could have some interesting discussion

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Snivy-Ace13: E.g. if nobody died it could get you thinking if both the people you chose were wolf or if both were town

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Snivy-Ace13: I like the potential the role has though

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Snivy-Ace13: It’s one of the only true solos

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Snivy-Ace13: And the lore behind an abandoned cub makes a lot of sense

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Snivy-Ace13: But two nights without killing puts you at a disadvantage tbh

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Snivy-Ace13: Maybe one is better but that might be too op

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: Well... I could steal an idea from wolvesville (evil detective) and make it so it can choose two players, including themself, and if they have different teams they die (they won't die if they choose themselves though).

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

!Phantomtomic: Is this part of the white werewolf team? If it is, it’s somewhat too similar to www’s mechanics to be another member, but if it’s not part of the www team it feels weird and confusing considering how similar it is with www If it’s packless, it’s forced itself to imitate a packless role, but with no packless abilities and just a cub ability, it puts lots of pressure on the player to be able to fake a packless role well and find the pack, plus if it ever gets investigated it basically outs themselves, unlike www

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: true...

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: Don't see anything particularly bad with this at first glance, but our recent trend has been to avoid lone solo roles and we only put them in decently rarely now. WWW is an exception... but not really, as it has the wolfpack as a ""team"". WWW has been decreasing in usage too however, mainly because it's more difficult to balance. I think this would end up being a very rarely used role and not a particularly fun one

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

shapechange: i agree with ts, but 8th is definitely correct that WWW just teams with wolves up until they dominate.

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: www teams with the wolves but also kills them

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

shapechange: it's not economical for www to kill wolves up until very late in the game usually, which can often severely impact town's game for the negative.

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: It should be econimical for www to kill wolves early

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: last time I was wolf in a www game www killed N2 iirc

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

shapechange:

It should be econimical for www to kill wolves early

people really fail to account for this when building lists unfortunately, which is more a listbuilder issue than a role issue, but if it fails to resolve then we may need to consider tackling it via the role instead

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: I don't really think we can or should

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

shapechange: it's a hypothetical

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

shapechange: we just have to yell at the other GMs to take it into account
