Feral Child #1024

Closed CrowdfordBot closed 1 year ago

The8thSoul: A non-lycan pack member that can craft basic tools each night to benefit the pack. Can craft traps and arrows. Traps are deployed on other players, obstructing the first visitor that visits them. Arrows can be used to injure another player, preventing them from using their abilities for an entire day phase (day + night). Arrows are treated as a separate attack. Both abilities can be redirected and obstructed.

The8thSoul: Extra notes:

The8thSoul: (If having multiple Feral Children sounds like a problem, then just add the limitation of only 1 Feral Child per game)

huckhuck55: The craft items idea is cool. Would imagine the role block thing might be turned down. But having crafted items do different things is a neat mechanic.

huckhuck55: Maybe the trap allows the pack to see what abilities were used on the person with the trap? (Cuz they have trapped them and can see what they did?)

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

huckhuck55: Or at the least the feral child sees it

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

huckhuck55: Maybe the exact details aren’t explained, but simply if person A was investigated by person B.

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

huckhuck55: And if someone was killed you would see who killed the person (providing you set the trap at the person that was killed’s house)

tbh, I was thinking of designing the arrow to be a "delayed roleblock", i.e. the player is warned that they were hit by an arrow and told they may not use abilities the following day

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: not the classic roleblock of just being stopped instantaneously due to an action

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

huckhuck55: Would the role block apply to something like wolf cub… ie, if cub dies the night of role block, the wolves don’t get 2 kills?

not sure why a feral child would shoot a wolf cub... but no, the roleblock would only apply for active abilities (not passive ones)

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

huckhuck55: cuz they are packless they might not know they are cub. but was an outlier thought.

huckhuck55: oh sorry, they are pack member. my bad.

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

huckhuck55: missed that bit

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

huckhuck55: i think the potential issue with the obstruction as trap is, if someone did a read or something on someone that was in the pack, wouldnt they be able to conclude that they are pack because their action is obstructed?

no, as you can plant traps on any player, not just pack member

Ts: Role Blocking is not allowed for wolf or town teams

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: Postponing this one for now, needs to be changed

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

mctsts: I feel like crafting items seem like a more town-y mechanic

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

mctsts: I will be closing this for now. Feel free to suggest a new crafting based role, without role blocking. I think it would work best as a town role.
