mctsts: sounds a bit similiar to a role we used to have: Claimspace | Town Miscellaneous Basics The Claimspace has no special abilities, and is only there for claimspace. Details For each Claimspace in the game, an extra role is added to the role list along with Claimspace, however no player actually is this role. When the role list is sent, it is not noted which role is not actually in the game. The Claimspace is privately informed which role the extra was. If there are multiple Claimspaces, each Claimspace has their own extra role.
Raven1207.2: o I see
mctsts: though it seems this one does a bit more
Raven1207.2: Yeah it's like a reverse Thief(?)
Raven1207.2: But yeah, Maniac pretty much would force players to betray their former team like how Thief would
mctsts: Re-reading this, I'm not sure I get it

What's not to get?

You start referencing things in the description that you did not previously explain.
raven1207.2: oh?
shapechange: i think this can probably be closed
raven1207.2:
oh?
The point of the role is that they shift around player's roles around (instead of becoming becoming the role like Thief)
shapechange: yeah that's bad
shapechange: we definitely don't need another thief-like role
raven1207.2: Understandable
Raven1270.2: Basically similar to Thief but it's ability makes it where the rolelist has 1 extra role than players. and Maniac is always aware of the out of play role when it changes. Besides that, their action is that they must choose someone to switch the role out with. The restriction would be that if they were to replace the last role of a specific team, then the action doesn't go through(so like if it was to replace the last werewolf and there was no werewolf helper that could turn to a werewolf, the action doesn't go through and no roles are changed that night). Additionally, if they were to replace a role that is the "leader" of a group(ie Cult Leader, Flute Player, Devil, Pyromancer, Vampire) then it would defer to their helpers.
As for win cons, I was thinking that it could either survive til the end or alternatively, win with the team that the out of role is on.
