derpsnorlax: Ua?
venomousbirds: Unaligned
mctsts: I don't find this to be a very offensive change, however were did we discuss it?
mctsts: I found the PR, here: https://github.com/McTsts/Werewolves-Roles/pull/1038
mctsts: its not linked to an issue however
mctsts: <@544125116640919557> or <@458727748504911884> where did we discuss this originally / vote on it?
shapechange: i cannot remember
e_thsn: idr either
shapechange: it was in a completely unrelated thread i think
e_thsn: I think it was over like 2-3 issues
shapechange: uh I don't mind especially if it's rolled back but i do think it's a lot neater to have a UAK category
e_thsn: it started in baroness
shapechange: also allows for more ua faking by wolves
shapechange: which i think assists the difficulty of UA
shapechange: I don't remember if we implemented a UAI but I'm less keen on that
venomousbirds: i dont remember wolves faking ua and being caught because of at but its a possiblity ig?
shapechange: the problem with not having these categories is largely consistency
venomousbirds: ua is consistently special so i didnt mind the lack of consistent categories
mctsts: Basically UAI and SI contain investigative abilities that Baroness can read, without UAI/SI this requires an edge case. That was the original reason this was done apparently
shapechange: ah yes that makes sense
shapechange: in which case i am back in support of UAI
mctsts: Then we also added UAK and UAP for consistency
venomousbirds: simply not have baroness be affected by ua
mctsts: That's potentially bad
venomousbirds: si i sort of understand but the category is practically useless
shapechange: consistency is very important to me personally
derpsnorlax: Yes
venomousbirds: so i dont think its any use to add them at all
mctsts: Baroness needs to have a good amount of roles it can target so it wont be useless too quickly
venomousbirds: ww and town already have a solid set of invest
shapechange: if we are going to have an extensive discussion on this issue i would appreciate if it waited til after the game as i would like to concentrate on that
mctsts:
also allows for more ua faking by wolves
Hadn't thought of this, but I like it
mctsts:
ww and town already have a solid set of invest
Though iirc Baroness cant target same target twice and usually there'll only be 2-3 targets
venomousbirds:
if we are going to have an extensive discussion on this issue i would appreciate if it waited til after the game as i would like to concentrate on that
im just adding it now, not with the intention to have it added in v16, so we can discuss it later
shapechange: great <:KittyThumbsUp:1072236975458893844>
venomousbirds:
Though iirc Baroness cant target same target twice and usually there'll only be 2-3 targets
oh i didnt know it had that limit
e_thsn: we decided to limit it that way otherwise it could just perma piggyback a TI and make all of town's investigations known to wolves
mctsts: I dont really think anyone will care all that much about this change and it makes some things more convenient so I'm for keeping it
venomousbirds:
we decided to limit it that way otherwise it could just perma piggyback a TI and make all of town's investigations known to wolves
that makes sense, yes
venomousbirds: i didnt know the limite was a thing so i assumed it could do that anyways
venomousbirds: woudnt be the first broken role we accepted anyways
mctsts: Is there any need to continue discussing this?
shapechange: I don't believe so
venomousbirds: Is it really neccesary? Ua shouldn't have to be seen as a threat and having to categorize everything is just gonna be confusing (UA was the only one with unique categories and I think it was fine as as it used to be) Most new UA categories don't have a lot of roles and it's just gonna be a hassle to look everything up. UA shouldn't have to be unique because most alignments ignore UA anyways
