federick: I approve 👍
Does this actually help much or will it still be very easy to figure out it was the chef?
mctsts: <@&1128435183113220106> This needs some discussion. Not sure who brought this up initially. I think the isssue is that the end-day death makes it kind of obvious that it was the chef who did the kill, which makes the chef not want to kill. I think the proposed fix of moving it to end night doesn't help much however since its still clear the chef sent poisoned food (it clearly wasn't charmed after all)
mctsts: <@458727748504911884> <@544125116640919557> too, you're not in the other ping
shapechange: smh
mctsts: I think this fix isn't really worth doing, but I also don't have alternative suggestions
e_thsn: What about a plain food too that does nothing but wastes that player's ability to eat?
e_thsn: Then this fix works
mctsts: hm
mctsts: Theoretically it would work, but would Chef ever actually send plain food?
e_thsn: Could be used for other things like tricking a player into thinking they're protected

i think part of the proposal is that if there's an end day kill (without wisp ingame) you know chef has killed, even if you didn't know that said player ate any food, so all players are less likely to trust chef. with an end night kill this isn't the case, though it's still not perfect

If they want to be deceptive yes
But currently all chef does is protect 😔

I see
mctsts: makes sense
phantomtomic: I don't really know myself since I've never played chef but the poison food seems useful enough to be used to help out waiters or other stuff, it's just that waiter protection is simply more important for the chef, poisoning others could cause distrust for the chef which can overall endanger the chef themselves, so by protecting waiters and staying neutral, it'd be a lot safer way to get to the end and win
captainluffy: I think it's better than the current option
venomousbirds: needs discussion, postponing
captainluffy: resolved in <#1166824488185368727>
thought thinking about it its still kinda obvious it was chef
