mctsts: though option 2 still doesn't solve 3p+ Baker situations
mctsts: Right now both Option 1 and Option 2 only work for 2p Bakers and nothing else
federick: Whats the 3p situation
federick: I think the fix works for 3 bakers too
mctsts: 2p public claim, the third stays hidden
mctsts: Option 2 has no risk for the 1st and 2nd Baker dying
federick: Isnt it every baker death?
mctsts: As I said Option 2 got changed
federick: Oh i missed the "last"
mctsts: The variant with it happening on every death had worse consequences per Baker than Option 1
federick: I think it can work for every baker death
mctsts: It really can't
federick: Maybe it confirms a baker died publically?
mctsts: A consequence on every Baker death would probably be the optimal solution, but we'd need one that's not as insanely bad as a "RB everyone" (Also that is not to mention that could mass confirmt town via phantom strat)
federick: So wolves also would want to refrain from confirming them or smth
federick: I guess kinda like huntress
mctsts: Bakers are generally already confirmed by lack of ctc
mctsts: Which is the entire issue of bakers
nottinghamshire: Sorry but just for clarity do we want bakers to be a role that should be afraid of claiming
mctsts: yes
nottinghamshire: Ok cool
mctsts: The exact goal is to eliminate roles that can trivially public claim and be confirmed
e_thsn: Bakers should either be really easy for town to ctc or not easily publicly claim
mctsts: Bakers can public claim in a group and wolves will generally not ctc, making them confirmed
mctsts: Wolves wont ctc groups unless the games are very big
mctsts: So pretty much any group that public claims will be confirmed
mctsts: Butchers have a builtin traitor
mctsts: Cult and Jury really dont want to claim
mctsts: But Bakers just claim and then are confirmed
nottinghamshire: Maybe if bakers die morale goes down because town doesn’t have cake so each wolf power can be used twice in one night or two night kills/main solo ability?
mctsts: Thats an interesting way to approach it
mctsts: Maybe if the wolves "eat" a Baker, that gives them an advantage
mctsts: cause the Baker has lots of bread and cake
nottinghamshire: Yes because bakers are tasty
mctsts: so they ate that too
mctsts: and that
mctsts: I find it a compelling reasoning from a thematic standpoint
mctsts: I think all wolf powers seems a bit much
nottinghamshire: Yeah defo
mctsts: So maybe whichever wolf eats the Baker gets the advantage (double power use?)
nottinghamshire: I was thinking from a pov in last game that had two wolf powers
nottinghamshire:
So maybe whichever wolf eats the Baker gets the advantage (double power use?)
Yeah that’s a reasonable change
mctsts:
So maybe whichever wolf eats the Baker gets the advantage (double power use?)
But is this viable? Do enough wolves have powers where this actually helps?
nottinghamshire: Tanner would be really helpful
e_thsn: It also means wm can't attack a baker for it to work
mctsts: Corrupt, Direwolf, Lone Wolf and Greater Coyote are also significant
e_thsn: PW and TrW
nottinghamshire: Oh coyote? Is that a proper role now
mctsts: oh right invest category exists
federick:
Yea i know
