e_thsn: I suggested on a version of cerberus that doesn't offer and instead takes the soul
We came to the conclusion that hell roles with offers/bargains are weak due to people being unwilling to sell their soul as it makes Hell more powerful
My suggestion is Since cerberus is a dog it can guard you at night and if you are attacked it takes your soul in exchange you survive the attack and the attacker is instead attacked by cerberus It also has a weak disguise and turns into demon is there are no hell roles left like the old version
phantomtomic: Does cerb get to use that… every night?
e_thsn:
Does cerb get to use that… every night?
yeah but if you know it's in game or suspect it's in game you can just not attack the most obvious target, also it comes with not being able to protect soulless players obviously
mctsts: yeah honestly this is a much improved version of cerb
mctsts: and sort of does the same thing
mctsts: but like in a good way
mctsts: this cerberus should just be a soul user honestly
mctsts: and probably hell team shouldnt gain a soul from this
e_thsn:
and probably hell team shouldnt gain a soul from this
just make them soulless?
e_thsn: actually that makes sense
e_thsn: you lose your soul and cerb uses it to attack your attacker
mctsts: yeah something like that
mctsts: and it keeps the power more balanced
phantomtomic: Is this too powerful though? It's an improved version of cerberus, yes, but it's also cerberus but better, I don't see any downgrades from old cerberus and the buffs are incredibly powerful (attacking the attacker can be super powerful, and forcibly gaining a soul is also super powerful)
mctsts: thats why I say it shouldnt be able to gain a soul
phantomtomic: Oh
phantomtomic: hm what if devil wants to wager them later and use their soul
phantomtomic: or would the soulless making just be a negative side effect that needs to be taken
mctsts:
hm what if devil wants to wager them later and use their soul
cant - theyre soulless
phantomtomic: yeah that's why I'm asking
mctsts: the cerberus takes their soul and uses it to attack the attacker
phantomtomic: oh
phantomtomic: I see
phantomtomic: yeah that makes sense
phantomtomic: it works better that way
mctsts: still good for hell because its one more soulless player
mctsts: but not like amazing
e_thsn: And hell win when everyone alive is soulless
e_thsn: so protection of someone is good
mctsts: the advantage for hell is that 1 player will likely be dead (the attacker) same as if the attack had normally occured, but additionally another player is soulless
e_thsn: I can write a Description
captainluffy: but how could anyone kill anyone obvious while this is in play
mctsts: that's the point <:gibagul:841358597983961128>
mctsts: and was the point of old cerberus
e_thsn: Cerberus | Solo Killing - Hell Team | Limited Basics Each night the Cerberus may guard a player, if attacked they will be protected in exchange for their soul, will be used to attack their attacker. The Cerberus wins with the devil. It joins a channel with the devil to communicate securely. The Cerberus can use the hell team's soul pool. Details Each night the Cerberus can select a player to guard, they may not select soulless players. If attacked the Cerberus will protect their target and in exchange take their soul, making them soulless, if the player has no soul they will no longer be protected. However, the soul does not add to hell's collective soul pool, and instead the Cerberus uses it to attack the player who attacked their target.
During the first phase, the Cerberus may choose a role as a weak disguise. This defaults to citizen.
At the start of the game, the Cerberus' soul is added to the hell team's soul pool. The Cerberus then becomes soulless.
The Cerberus may use souls from the pool to protect or attack a player.
If the Cerberus is attacked while a soul is in the pool, a soul will automatically be used to protect the Cerberus.
See $info souls
for a detailed explanation.
Members of the Hell team cannot betray the team in any way. Any attempts at conversion or recruitment of a member will fail in some manner.

• Untarget
e_thsn: <@234474456624529410> does that formalization work?
e_thsn: actually how do I add a condition on if they're not soulless to On @Target Visited [Attack]:
captainluffy: i dont think it shuld have souls because it should be killable by roles that want to kill it
e_thsn:
i dont think it shuld have souls because it should be killable by roles that want to kill it
Ts suggested it have soul pool access
e_thsn: otherwise we have the weird demon transformation
captainluffy: yeah but he probably didnt consider the consequences of the passive defence
captainluffy: on a role that gives other roles defence
e_thsn: I mean yeah but it also doesn't gather souls anymore
captainluffy: imo you can just copy firebug but switch the ignition for attack
e_thsn: hmmm
e_thsn: true but fiebug is different in that it does something if they're not attacked
e_thsn: which needs the warded attribute
captainluffy: well yes but thats a different section
e_thsn: oh
captainluffy: so it makes someone some soulless without stealing a soul?
