mctsts: i think an UA either needs to be really fun (this does not seem to be) or actually have some relevant impact on the game besides just existing
mctsts: this role would not have any impact
mctsts: so its only merit is that it is really good
mctsts: it is not
pokemoncross: you need to be killed by wolf
sarvak2: Cause it's gotta be truly unaligned. Got to have equal reason to side with both sides and has to be able to exist independently
sarvak2: Has to have impact but can't be all encompassing
sarvak2: It's a difficult design space
mctsts: roles like angel serve purpose beyond the UA player themselves
mctsts: they affect town and wolves lynching behaivor, make exe less confirmable, etc
pokemoncross: harm everyone
e_thsn: What about PP
im_dumm0: Gambler = unaligned psychic wolf
e_thsn:
Gambler = unaligned psychic wolf
No?
mctsts: psychopath?
e_thsn:
psychopath?
Yeah it doesn't have much impact
captainluffy: remember swindler, bear, golem, or unemployed chef
e_thsn: It just coasts right
mctsts: psychopath is historic
mctsts: im not a fan
mctsts: its impact is intended to be to cause more misinformation and such, but I dont think it is effective in this
mctsts: maybe to some slight degree, but not a lot
sarvak2: I mean it's impact is that it needs to nudge players to kill but stall the game long enough to get people on its list that aren't on the team it sides with cause you can't ask wolves to kill other wolves or town to waste precious TK on other town
sarvak2: It's more of a social role than a power role
e_thsn: I like including PP cause it's not going to impact much so it's good in a lot of lists, but it's not fun to play I assume
mctsts:

yes, but its not super effective in this
mctsts: depending on the game it might sometimes achieve such things
mctsts: but its not as effective as angel can be
sarvak2: I'm curious on the stats of different UA role accessions
mctsts: we should create that sometime
e_thsn: Most of the time it waits til one team is winning then just says eh I need x of your team dead, kill them before you win please and I'll vote with you
sarvak2: It'd be interesting to see the win stats of the less impactful UA Vs the most fun ones Vs the boring but impactful roles
mctsts: you know what ill build a UA winning statistic thing
sarvak2: I personally prefer pack cause I find the coordination extremely engaging
sarvak2: Building fake claims and corroborating stories without leading town to connect you all as wolves is the most fun I have in the game, personally
steinator: I have a stupid idea. The Lawyer Similar to chef in that he has 3 people (imo they dont have to all be from opposing teams). He has to make sure none of those 3 targets ever get lynched to win. (This implies something like a tk is needed or so)
sarvak2: So UA is just inherently uninteresting to me
sarvak2: So I'd be curious what people who do enjoy the role have to say about what aspects make it enjoyable
im_dumm0:

that would be prosecutor cus Lawyer defends his defendent
mctsts: I have changed my mind, dont wanna build a statistic
pokemoncross: hmmmmmmmmm...
GAMBLER
would the targeted lose their vote ?
pokemoncross: if guessed correctly
sarvak2:
I have changed my mind, dont wanna build a statistic
Any particular reason? Or just too much work?
pokemoncross: and confirmed
steinator:
that would be prosecutor cus Lawyer defends his defendent
The lawyer doesnt want his 3 defendants to get lynched?
mctsts:

Difficult to achieve, cant do much to achieve this
mctsts:

too much work
thekremblin:

i think the main thing is not being forced to side with a team who may still lose due to luck or incompetence even if you yourself play well
like, yes, UA lose due to luck all the time, but there is SOME level of control you feel when you play it
sarvak2: Fair
pokemoncross:
The lawyer doesnt want his 3 defendants to get lynched?
keep them alive to win...
this must be a solo
e_thsn: Each night the gambler must guess who they think will die that night, upon guessing everyone correctly the gambler will receive an investigation the following day. The gambler ascends and wins upon three successful guesses.
