WM Idea #746

Closed ThomasRubycrust closed 1 year ago

had an idea: packless WM that is notified when it is selected as a target/has a non-kill power used on it, and if it's targeted/has a power used on it by a pack member is given that wolf's identity. needs work.

I thought about it more and at this point I think it probably makes more sense to name new packless lycanless werewolves in the same way as Warlock and Tanner instead of starting a new naming convention. I think the original suggestions for that were Husk and Sorcerer

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: finally i prevail. and yeah those were the two original suggestions, I'll try think of a couple more

McTsts commented 2 years ago

I think Sorcerer is once again not very fitting for this role because it's fairly passive.

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

Ts: Do you want to develop this idea in time for the next version?

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: i do

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

Ts: Post is about to close again

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

Ts: Requires a PR this week or will be postponed

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

Ts:

i do

to get it done in time for icons it needs to get a description/pr/vote soon

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: cool

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: i will do a name soon

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: i think that's the last step apart from mechanic formalisation

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

Ts: right it doesnt have a name yet

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: Shaman?

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

Ts: I think names like that don't really fit its passive power

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: yeah that's fair

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: it's a hard one to name

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: Recluse?

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

Ts: I dont think that implies wolf team. Maybe Reclusive Wolf?

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: no, because we're following the warlock/tanner convention, and those don't have wolfy appendations

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

Ts: it can just not follow that one and be a lycan

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: also i think it probably needs a disguise selection to buff it a lil

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: it not being a lycan was the entire point of the role

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

Ts: I thought that was the packless WM part

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: yeah, i wanted it to be a non-lycan packless WM

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: if it can't go stealth against invests there is very little point to the role

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

Ts: It's difficult to fittingly name a role without an active power in a way that implies that its evil

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: tbf, Tanner doesn't really imply much evil

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

Ts: it doesn't

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: i do think Recluse is decent the more i think about it.

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

Ts: actually it does work

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

Ts: because its just some person

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

Ts: that likes being alone so uh I guess it supports the wolves who eat people

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

Ts: easier to be reclusive when the wolves eat everyone

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: yes

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: and they're too stinky for the wolves to eat

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

Ts: ah yes and thats the explanation for detecting abilities used on them

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

Ts: they stink so much everyone that tries to get close to them almost pukes making a sound

CrowdfordBot commented 2 years ago

shapechange: yes

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

shapechange: aight whos gonna write a desc for this

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

shapechange: and by "who" i mean you, ts

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

shapechange: i mean i can do it if you really don't wanna, i'm just super busy

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: i mean it is your suggestion

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

shapechange: unfortunately i am also really busy

Ts: Recluse | Werewolf Miscellaneous Basics The Recluse is immediately notified of all powers used on them. When a werewolf uses a power on them, they are given that werewolf's identity. Details The Recluse is told which role targeted them and what power was used on them, but not the identity of the player that used a power on them. An exception are members of the wolfpack/werewolf team - when they use a power on the Recluse, the Recluse is told the identity of that player as well. The Recluse is not a lycan and is not part of the wolfpack.

Simplified The Recluse and the wolfpack do not know each other. The Recluse is immediately notified of all powers used on them. When a werewolf uses a power on them, they are given that werewolf's identity.

Captain Luffy:

When a werewolf uses a power on them, they are given that werewolf's identity. it sounds like they know the players identity not the role

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: that's exactly what it is

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

shapechange: sounds great
