Mr. Turtle: So this is basically a TK with a forced every-night kill?
Ts: It could be part of it, but that's not really enough to make a unique role I think
Ethan.: What if the punishment for killing town was to instead take on that towns role while still remaining a lycan
That's somewhat interesting, but I dont think the lycan part would work very well.
Ts: I think the remorseful wolf idea sounds pretty good, but I don't really have anything that could turn it into an actual decent role. Does anyone else have anything?
Ts: <@265186558016094208>
Ethan.: I still think if it kills a town role it turns into that town role
Ethan.: As a failsafe
Ts: That just doesn't seem like something that makes sense with the roles concept
Ts: Also that just encourages random killing
Ethan.: Maybe just loses the ability to kill if it kills town
Ts: That could maybe work?
Ts: To make it more logical maybe it then starves to death after X days (this wouldn't be too bad because our games are fairly short)
We should revisit this idea :)
shapechange: has potential i suppose
shapechange: would suggest "outcast wolf" is probably a better name
shapechange: will think on abilities
shapechange: perhaps if it kills a townsperson, it is revealed to wolves
shapechange: (in which case it should only be able to kill from N2 onward)
Ts: Outcast sounds good
Ts: Maybe if it kills a townie it's outcast from town too <:thonk:688530547857031236>
shapechange: and becomes a solo?
Ts: Yeah
shapechange: could work
shapechange: like a very weird cursed civ
It's much better though because you get an ability and if you turn you're responsible yourself.
shapechange: yes
shapechange: i kinda like it
Would it be a forced kill?
shapechange: yes
shapechange: otherwise there's almost no risk to the role
yeah. Im assuming we'd have it be like Assassin where N1 is skipped though
shapechange: it's just plain old assassin with unlimited kills and vulnerability to AT
shapechange: yes
shapechange: should probably add a WWW-like disguise (without the abilities) so that it's vulnerable to all TI, not just AT
shapechange: it's just plain old assassin with unlimited kills and vulnerability to AT
well except for the becoming solo part?
If it turns solo it needs to turn into a different role I think. It could be permanently disguised as that one.
shapechange: without the forced kills, i don't see that being a thing that ever happens unless town super fuck up. if there was any chance that the target was town, you wouldn't have OW kill, because you'd rather miss a potential kill than have a high-info solo running around
yeah thats why it gets the forced kill

not sure how i feel about that - i think having it appear wolf-like, at least while it's not a solo, should be a major part of the role

true, disguised as Wolf then?

would suggest it's disguised per the WWW rules to make life a little easier when using it in a public list
shapechange: have the solo role be called "Maverick Werewolf" or something. could even reuse Grey Werewolf if we really wanted to ig
Outcast² Wolf
shapechange: out²+2outcast+cast² wolf
outout+outcast+outcast+castcast wolf
Ethan.: Outcast! wolf
shapechange: Outcast Wolf [Townsfolk Killing] Basics The Outcast Wolf is a lycan who decries the behaviour of the other wolves and seeks to eliminate them. After night 1, the Outcast Wolf must choose one player to attack during the night. Details The Outcast Wolf is not a member of the wolfpack, and doesn't know the other werewolves. However, they are still a lycan, despite not being a part of the werewolf team. From night 2 onwards, the Outcast Wolf must attack a player. every night. If their target is townsfolk aligned and dies, the Outcast Wolf immediately becomes a maverick werewolf. Otherwise, they remain an Outcast Wolf. If the Outcast Wolf fails to choose a target, one is randomly selected. The Outcast Wolf is strongly disguised as the most common role in the wolfpack, excepting those with permanent or semi-permanent disguises. If there are several most common roles fitting these criteria, the most common Werewolf Miscellaneous role is picked; if there are several most common WM roles, or there are no WM roles, an arbitrary one is picked from the most common WM or wolfpack roles respectively. Attacking a player is an end-night ability.
Rough Role Idea The Regretful Wolf is a town aligned packless lycan who feels remorse for killing town. However they must still kill every night.
Ethan: Is [it a] forced kill, what happens if they don't, what if they kill town?
Ts: Unsure, but it cant be a priest clone. It would probably be a lycan which gives it something unique at least
