The8thSoul: What if there was a team that could have the ability to disguise players and the objective is to get disguised players killed? Would it be too weak?

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: I'm guessing A was an abbreviation

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: yes the description was too long to fit in 2k characters otherwise

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: is a. "angel"?

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: archangel

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: I meant "a.'s grace"

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: archangel's grace

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: Ah ok

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: equivalent to devil's wager

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: demonized is the underground/graveyard team right?

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: demonized is underworld

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: (old) graveyard team also had a full set of different terms

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: apparently the old graveyard team used "tainted" instead of "demonized"

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: graveyard team consisted out of Plaguebearer and Zombie, both role names (as well as the team name) have been reused now

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Captain Luffy: if vampire was created today, we probably wouldnt use the term demonize because theres a role called demon

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: i never thought about it, but yea

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: Do you advise against roles that control other players?

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: (Coz u know... it's almost identical to roleblocking/redirecting)

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: It would probably also be quite powerful if roles like Assassin were in game anyways

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts:

Do you advise against roles that control other players?

yes

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: Idk if I've asked about this before too, but also roles that revive a player is also not advised

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: controling others is effectively role blocking + stealing their ability

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: revival is impossible unless it is already known when they die

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul:

revival is impossible unless it is already known when they die

wdym by this?

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: I'm also gonna quickly check Nightmare lol

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: if a certain player could be revived and it is already known then they die, instead of turning into Dead Participant they can turn into some other role that doesnt reveal any channels, making revival possible

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul:

Ah ok

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: Well... that would make Ritualist from Wolvesville an option

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: But also then again, it might cause issues. For example, it's then almost the same as a one-use Doctor type of role

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: Also, if Underworld demonizes the same player, it might cause some conflicting action order (especially if there are multiple roles with this ability)

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: Wait... isn't it also Witch?

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: Oh nvm

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: I was thinking of the Witch from Werewolf

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts: undead is on dying (but does not get to death), ritualist would be on death

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: I'm thinking about an "Evil Cupid" solo role:

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: It's probably a bad idea, but could be for a strange Valentine Day themed game lmao

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul:

I'm thinking about an "Evil Cupid" solo role:

  • Each night, they may choose two players.
  • If they are in the same team, then they are coupled together.
  • Once coupled, trying to couple them with another player will fail.
  • If they are not in the same team, one of them will die (Unaligned > Townsfolk > Werewolf > Solo).

Then perhaps to make this role even worse, after everyone is coupled (or one player remains who is not coupled with anyone), maybe this role would auto win.

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

shapechange: cupid's hell game

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: XD

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

shapechange: honestly kinda hilarious i would back this as a joke role for a valentine's game

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: Btw... are there any roles that transform when they lose their first objective?

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: For example... if you had a target and they died, you would become a different role (like Angel)?

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: Oh wait... that sounds very much like Executioner from ToS XD

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: But yeah... are there any roles that transform upon losing an objective? (Or is it not advised/the purpose of descendance)?

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: What was the original description for grey wolf?

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: Was it something along the lines of: If all other werewolves are dead, you become a solo team?

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: Also... seeing how there's Werewolves, Foxes, Warlocks and Hags, does that mean Goblins are also allowed?

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

The8thSoul: Like... Goblins Phoenixes Orcs Mythical Creatures etc.?

CrowdfordBot commented 1 year ago

Ts:

i dont believe so, Angel used to need to get lynched D1 and would transform into Citizen otherwise back on old WWs but right now we dont really have it. It's also not something that is banned in any way, but generally I think roles are better off and less volatile if their goal is more achievable so no transformation is required (and should they fail anyway they descend)

Gray Werewolf | Solo Killing | Archived Basics The Gray Werewolf is a werewolf who is not satisfied with merely killing the townsfolk; they must kill all the werewolves as well. On even numbered nights, the Gray Werewolf may attack a member of the wolfpack. Details The Gray Werewolf is similar to the White Werewolf. A difference is that the Gray Werewolf can also win while one other player is alive. The Gray Werewolf wins when the only remaining players are the Gray Werewolf and optionally another player. The other player also wins, however the rest of their team does not. Unlike the White Werewolf, the Gray Werewolf does not have a disguise. Attacking a member of the wolfpack is an end effect. If only werewolves and the Gray Werewolf are left alive, the game will continue until either all werewolves are dead or the Gray Werewolf is dead. The Gray Werewolf is not part of the werewolf team, but is still considered a lycan and is part of the wolfpack.
