A new experimental YouTube layout has a transition when opening the description #240

Bug description

It results in this ext doing a weird opacity transition, while when the ambient effect is turned off, the opacity transition is disabled

Steps to reproduce the behavior

Just get randomly assigned to the A/B test 😉

After reloading, the good ol' UI came back

Thanks for the heads-up. I was "lucky enough" to be randomly selected for the A/B test today.

It seems that YouTube has put the transition onto the description themselves. It's just that their expanded description panel has a background, while my extension removes the background. It will require some investigation into how I can remove their fading transition/animation while keeping the mouseover/hover transition/animation.

Ok, I'm going to treat this as intended by YouTube's design. Because in non-theater view the video description and comments are also fading out:
