We've had some disagreements about which pipeline to use. Retro Doom styled billboarded viewmodels and characters, or low-fi Quake styled 3D-models. @westdespair will work a bit on 3D, and @OdinUlvestad will work on 2D. They will together decide on a cohesive and efficient style.
We decided on going forward with a low-poly 3D look, with medium fidelity images as textures. We might use billboarded props to get additional detail with less effort.
