Hello Eric Thanks for the work you have had on the script to let vara and rms express work on a raspberry pi. I have been testing every new update from the beginning on. Until now I have not had any success with the scripts. The only script which worked ok for me, was the one without RMS express. But now installing the last script on a raspberry pi 4 with 4gb, bullseye and build a pi made by km4ack on the sd-card gave me a good result. This last script was installed without any problem and ended with the message that it was ready. Starting rms from the menu was not possible but starting it from the desktop worked well and without failures. Vara FM and HF are starting and the IC7100 is going into send mode. The connection is then no problem and is ended as it supposed to be. The startup in the menu of the raspberry pi has disappeared after a reboot. Sometimes I have to start rms express a second time because the first start is not starting the program. But when it is started there are no more errors so that it needs no restarts as there were necessary in the scripts before. I will follow the further actions on the script and hope that it can be integrated in build a pi.

Thank you for your kind words and for posting your notes on your working hardware setup! I'll add your hardware to our working hardware list. I'm glad things are sending/receiving for you now. Making the script has been a long process of learning, trial/error, and debugging, but I think we're gaining more stability & reliability with every update. One day, I think we might even get this working on Android phones, but we'll have to see what the future holds.

I would love to have this script be part of build-a-pi too and am also happy to share code in whole or in part with anybody who wants to incorporate this script into any other projects. When we've got things really stable, I think having it part of BAP could be a possibility. For now, I'm glad that the two scripts are compatible alongside each other.
